The Greene Art Gallery was founded in 1977 by Richard B. Greene. The gallery has represented hundreds of professional artists since 1977 and has held over two hundred openings for artists' work.

In 2005, the gallery closed because of Richard's health concerns and he passed away on September 28, 2006. Richard's wife, Kathryn Halloran Greene  reopened the gallery in October 2007, to much appreciation by gallery patrons, the public and artists. (Richard in front of gallery, approx 1983.)
