Open Think Tank

We are used to thinking of think tanks as secret gatherings of pundits who pretend to know better than we do what is good for us. Our Open Think Tank (OTT,)  is different. It is open to anyone who cares to participate. It does not purport to have the solution to the many questions which we as community are facing. Instead, it is based on the belief that the solution can always be found when the question is examined in earnest by people who open up and listen to one another. Our Open Think Tank has no preconceived or hidden agenda. We believe that questions to be discussed should be decided not by moderators but by the participants themselves through majority voting. Welcome to the Open Think Tank.

OTT is moderated by Marek Maryanski, Doug Newman, and Kathryn Greene, and meets on the second Sunday of each month at 3:30 pm at the Greene Art Gallery, 29 Whitfield St, Guilford.

Suggested topics will be voted on by those in attendance and two topics with the majority vote will be discussed that evening. Each person who wants, to will be able to speak for two minutes on the chosen topic with the discussion of each topic lasting 45 minutes. If you plan on attending OTT please email [email protected] or call the gallery at 203.453.4162 in order to reserve a seat and, if you like, offer your suggestion for a topic of discussion, in advance. Walkins are always welcome!
