Phil Steinberg / Green Up Group

On July 30, 2pm Phil Steinberg will talk about the benefits of vertical/roof gardens and how to grow them. He grew and installed the vertical/roof herb gardens on our "Habitat" in the sculpture garden.

During "Secret Garden Tours" in June, Phil explained vertical/roof/raised bed gardening to visitors in our sculpture garden.

After a 30 year career in Finance Phil  turned his interest to the non-profit sector (Executive Director of East Side Partnership, Inc., Stamford, CT) and then to Green Up Group, LLC where he is Director of Product Development, Sales and Marketing. Phil designed/built our raised bed on Whitfield St (where we grow food for the Guilford Food Bank) and 3 raised beds for us at the Guilford Community Garden. He introduced Kathryn to Simon Draper, founder of Habitat for Artists (Green Up has a “Habitat” in front of their retail store in Stamford) resulting in our collaboration with "Habitat for Artists."

Green Up provides consultation, design, installation and maintenance of a variety of plant-based products and systems that showcase the aesthetic and environmental benefits of green technology.
